Los Alamos Community Winds To Present 2024 Holiday Prism Concert Saturday Dec. 14

LACW News:

The Los Alamos Community Winds (LACW) presents its annual Holiday Prism Concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 at Crossroads Bible Church. The concert will be made up of performances by members from the community – the Los Alamos Flutes, Los Alamos Clarinet Choir, SaxAtomix and other small ensembles along with individual solo performances by pianist Arthur Lui, flutist Mariana Ruthstrom and trumpeter Alex Vives.

This year, LACW will have the Los Alamos Choral Society join in the festivities for performances of two holiday classics; Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride” and “A Christmas Festival”.

Much like a prism breaks light into its component parts, the Holiday Prism Concert showcases the music and musicians of Los Alamos and White Rock in all their varied components. For a continuous hour and a half, the audience is literally surrounded by the sounds of the season performed by members of the community.

Saturday’s performance allows the audience to not only see and hear LACW as a whole, but also a wide variety of soloists and small ensembles. As the concert progresses, they will be treated to a seamless parade of musical colors all connected in the celebration of the Holiday Season.

As a special event for the children (and young at heart) that “Jolly Old Elf” from the North Pole will be making a special appearance and hearing Christmas “wish lists”.

Come join for the holiday music event of the season! Santa will be available beginning at 5:30 p.m. Auditorium doors open at 6:30 p.m. The concert begins at 7 p.m.

As always, the concert is presented free of charge. A suggested donation of $15 per guest is gratefully accepted. LACW is a 501 (c) 3 organization and all donations are tax deductible.
