COMMUNITY News:
The Los Alamos Women’s Day Class of Community Bible Study is excited to announce that the 2020-21 class year will begin the week of Sept. 14.
Usually each CBS class chooses which study it will complete during a class year, but to celebrate the 45th anniversary of this international ministry, the entire North American branch of CBS will be studying the Gospel of John. In 1975, the first Community Bible Study in Bethesda, Md., studied John.
Unlike that first CBS class, however, the 2020-21 study of John will take place live online. Due to nationwide restrictions on gatherings, small group discussions will be hosted through CBS’s online platform, utilizing Zoom.
Because many women are either working from home or facilitating their children’s online learning, CBS will offer core group online meeting times in the mornings, afternoons, or evenings. Ladies from the surrounding area as well as across the nation can join the Los Alamos class if they so desire.
While there won’t be any kind of online meetings for preschoolers, short Bible story videos from our local leaders will be available, and parents have the option of either receiving kits containing all the materials for each story unit, or receiving a brief email summary of each unit.
The LA CBS class also is looking forward to live online classes for elementary-aged children. The Primary and Junior classes (grades 1-3 and 4-6) also will be studying John.
Los Alamos CBS is open to women desiring to learn more about the Bible and how it relates to life in 2020. Registration is $35, but scholarships are available.
