Los Alamos Celtics Tie Top-Ranked U16 Boys Team In The State

In Duke City Soccer action, the Boys U-16 LAFC Atomic City United tied the undefeated and top-ranked Rio Rapids SC Rapids.

The team came back from a 1:2 half-time deficit and tied the game 2:2. Both goals for the Los Alamos team were scored by Danny Castano. Goallie Adam Listwan saved the tie with several outstanding saves.

The Los Alamos Football Club U14 co-ed Celtics were overtaken by the Corrales Caution 4-3 in a hard fought match. The Celtics countered with some good build-up and some very creative play from Marie Lee and Miguel Chacon who scored another hat trick. Jacob Majors had an amazing game in goal saving many breakaway opportunities.

In a 2nd match, the LAFC Celtics beat the U13 boys AYSO Avengers 1-0 pushing their record to 3 wins, 2 losses, and 2 ties. Stellar defense by Trystan Osburn prevented all but some wishful 30-yard shots. Alyssa Parker and Sophia Mamula each had break-away opportunities that were barely redirected by the opposing keeper. Izzy Hodges controlled a pass at the top of the penalty area, and redirected a smooth pass to Marie Lee, who pounded a left footed shot to far post for the Celtics win.
