The Los Alamos Boys wrestling team concluded a great season this year by qualifying six wrestlers for the state tournament held in Rio Rancho.
Angel Fresquez at 107 pounds, Cooper Beavers at 114 pounds, Michael Fichtel at 121 pounds, Brailyn Manzanares at 133 pounds, Nathan Duffield at 145 pounds, and Adrian Oshel at 152 pounds all qualified for state by placing at regionals the week prior.
Fresquez, Fichtel and Duffield all advanced in the first round of the state tournament and were eliminated in subsequent rounds.
The boys took 2nd place at the district tournament in Taos earlier this month and represented the team well at state. The team is led by coach Paul Wilson, assistant coach Rob Manzanares, as well as Jeremy Tisdale, Patrick O’Sullivan, and Trae Perez. The Team manager is Avalon Bullock.
