Los Alamos Big Band Plays Pond 7 p.m. Today

The next to last show of the Los Alamos County Summer Concert Series is 7 p.m. today at Ashley Pond with the Los Alamos Big Band.

The Big Band is famous around northern NM for their renditions of music made famous by the Gershwins, the Dorseys, Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Duke Ellington and Count Basie plus other classics from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. FREE CONCERT.

Opening will be the Los Alamos Jazz Project directed by the Middle School’s music teacher, Ryan Finn. This band is made up of LAHS’s top musicians that are learning about a style of American music that must live on. Tell everyone that loves music about the show and dance.

The last concert of the year will be the fabulous Chuck Mead Band. They are one of the best country dance bands in the world. Chuck was the founder, lead guitarist and singer for the great country/Americana dance band, BR549.
