“When I started writing this book, among other things, I wanted to declare war on the word ‘paradigm,’” Los Alamos author Lowell Christensen said.
“Stephen R. Covey excavated the word in Greece, and before you knew it, ‘paradigm’ was used about a thousand times in every meeting in America. Why not use a rich English word like model, perspective, or vista?”
Christensen is the author of The One-Minute Zillionaire – Achieve Wealth, Fame, and Success in an Instant, Give or Take a Hundred Years. This book is a tongue-in-cheek look at get-rich-quick schemes, preposterous goal setting, success book poetry (“Keep Your Goals Away from the Trolls”), gambling, raising rabbits, diet and exercise, wooing techniques, public speaking and funeral planning.
He delivers a very funny yet sensible message with help from a wide cast of characters, including Shakespeare, Freud, Pamela Anderson, Dante, Greek goddesses, Chewbacca, Charles Manson, Saint Peter and Pancho Villa.
“I tried to make it a complete success book, Christensen said. “Hopefully you’ll get so crazed with my principles of success that you’ll want to dash to Alaska to search for gold and taunt grizzly bears. This book will provide everything you need: principles, practices, perspectives, platitudes, and that poetic device success book authors overuse by listing things that start with the same letter.”
Christensen has lived in White Rock for 28 years, during which he has written two other books: Coping With Texas and Other Staggering Feets and Beginning Farming and What Makes a Sheep Tick. He has also written several magazine articles covering presidential elections as Shakespearean plays (A Midsummer Nightsmare, It Takes a Hamlet, Obomo) and numerous newspaper articles and letters to the editor discussing inane television shows, school standards, Cub Scout misadventures, travel, and how the local library looks like a dead rhinoceros.
The One-Minute Zillionaire is available as an e-book, as well as in print, from Amazon.com and other booksellers. Visit Christensen’s webpage theoneminutezillionaire.com to read some of his work and learn more about him.
