For a special treat, Los Alamos Arts Council and Fuller Lodge Art Center present the annual “Sec Sandoval Chalk Walk” this month to Los Alamos County residents.

Participants can register May 26-29 for the contest at https://losalamosartscouncil.org/chalk-walk/. Entries are $7 each, and LAAC will also sell chalk bundles. Prices and colors on chalk vary.

LAAC will provide contactless delivery of chalk purchased online, or it can be purchased at Village Arts. Please call 505.661.2526 to make an appointment to purchase chalk in person.

Participants will create their art at their own homes Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31, and judges will arrive at the given address June 1.

Participants are encouraged to send pictures of their art to LAAC at laarts@rt66.com after it is completed, in the event weather alters the artwork. Prizes will be awarded to the winning participants on June 1. There are two categories for the contest – adult (one person) and family.

Photos of the Chalk Walk will be put up online June 1 at https://losalamosartscouncil.org/chalk-walk, as well as Facebook and Instagram. Photos will also be submitted to local publications for distribution.
