The Los Alamos Amateur Radio Club will participate in the national Amateur Radio Field Day exercise June 23-24 at the East Park off East Road in Los Alamos. Ham radio operators across North America will operate from noon Saturday, June 23 to noon Sunday, June 24, using generator, solar and battery power equipment in order to make radio contacts during this 24 hour emergency preparedness exercise.
The public is invited to attend and see a demonstration of the Radio Amateurs’ skills and readiness in providing self-supporting communications when infrastructure in not available. The public also may operate the ham radios and make contact with ham radio operators in North America.
