LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) is launching “Operation Safe Driving” throughout October, aiming to enhance traffic enforcement across Los Alamos County, including highways N.M. 502 and N.M. 4.

The focus is on serious violations such as DWI, speeding, distracted driving and school zone safety.

The goal is to enhance traffic safety, enforce traffic laws and minimize traffic crashes during the transition from summer to winter.

Motorists are encouraged to maintain their vehicles—ensuring headlights, windshield wipers, tires and ice scrapers are in good working condition—as they prepare for colder and darker winter conditions.

Safe driving is essential to keeping roads safer for everyone.
