Lodgers’ Tax Advisory Board To Meet At Noon Tuesday

The Los Alamos County Lodgers’ Tax Advisory Board is scheduled to meet from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building at 1000 Central Ave., and via Zoom.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the Lodgers’ Tax Advisory Board meetings and provide public comment either in person or over Zoom.

About the Lodgers’ Tax Advisory Board:

The Lodgers’ Tax Advisory Board is established to advise the County Manager and Council on the expenditure of funds authorized by NMSA 1978, § 3-38-22 for advertising, publicizing, and promoting tourist attractions and facilities in and around the County. The purpose of the Lodgers’ Tax, as established by Article II, Section 36-31, Los Alamos County Municipal Code, a tax borne by transient persons using commercial lodging accommodation, is to provide revenues for advertising the community, improving its services, financing new facilities, attracting conferences, conventions and meetings of commercial, cultural, educational and social origin to the county and the state. Please note: the Tourism Implementation Task Force was absorbed by the Lodgers’ Tax Advisory Board in spring 2024.
