Charger swimmers returned to Los Alamos Wednesday, after successfully competing in the 2013 Gulf Coast Swim Team Invitational Meet in Fort Myers, Fla.
With 740 swimmers competing, it was not a surprise to see World Championship qualifying cut times being made in the top heats. Los Alamos Charger swimmers did surprisingly well with several of the kids earning places in the top-16 finals heats (see results below).
Congratulations goes out to Maria Venneri, who got her first Sectional cut in the 200 backstroke at this meet, along with Sarah Lott, who earned two more Sectional cuts in her 100 freestyle and 200 butterfly races. She secured her first Sectional cut at the High School State meet in her 200 free in February.
Other Charger swimmers, who had amazing races at this meet, and great time drops in their events, include Radhika Iyer and Sydney Schoonover.
The team spent their last few days in Florida running around Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure in Orlando.
