Local Student Talia Ben-Naim Helps Her Community

Los Alamos Middle School student Talia Ben-Naim presents checks for $840 each to Self Help, Inc Director Ellen Morris Bond and YMCA Youth and Family Director Jeremy Smith from her very successful Rock on Climbathon. The proceeds raised from her fundraising event assist the YMCA in providing scholarships and assist Self Help, Inc. in providing consultation and advocacy, emergency financial assistance and seed money grants to area residents. The Rock on Climbathon is part of Ben-Naim’s ‘passion project’ in LAMS seventh grade GATE class, in which she is a student. ‘Passion projects’ for GATE are designed to showcase a student’s passion while challenging the student to meet a tangible goal at the end of the project.
