Local Resident Turns 93 As His Century Plant Blooms

A local resident turns 93 years old as the century plant (Agave americana) blooms Sunday in his front yard in White Rock. Century plants only bloom once in their lifetime and the bloom may not appear for 10, 20 or more years, depending on the climate. A century flower stalk may grow up to 25 feet tall. Source: cron.com.
