CO+OP News:

Last weekend, the Los Alamos Co+op Market celebrated Local Fest, promoting local vendors including Camino de Paz and showcased local health practitioners at the Health and Wellness Fair.

Local Fest, well attended over the busy weekend, displayed the Co+op’s commitment to the local community and reiterated the Co+op’s updated definition of local: items grown or produced within 300 miles of the Co+op or in New Mexico.

At Local Fest, people enjoyed chair massages and learned about nutrition, acupuncture, yoga, reiki, motherhood support, and other resources from over 18 local practitioners. The Espanola Valley Fiber Arts Center gave spinning demonstrations and Camino de Paz sampled their delicious produce. The aroma of green chile filled the air both days, and the Co+op’s local items were showcased to promote business for their local vendors and boost our local food economy. The Co+op plans on expanding its local items and looks forward to another Local Fest next year.

The Los Alamos Co+op Market can be found at two locations: 95 Entrada Dr. and inside Fusion Multisport on Central Avenue across from CB FOX. Visit www.losalamos.coop or call the Co+op at 505.695.1579, for more information.
