Ruby, a local dog chased something into the bushes recently in her back yard on Andanada Street. The strong odor permeating from Ruby afterward confirmed she had tangled with this skunk. An online suggestion for ridding skunk odor thankfully worked very well: 1 quart hydrogen peroxide (3%), 1/4 cup baking soda and a tablespoon of dish-washing detergent; wash the dog twice with the solution and then once with regular shampoo.
