The Los Alamos County Little League season kicks off soon and community members are invited to a planning meeting at 7 p.m., Feb. 7 at Zia Realty on Central Avenue at 15th Street.
This season’s registration opens in mid February. Late registration ends Friday, March 27 and incurs a $10 late fee. Teams will be formed by the end of March/beginning of April with practices to begin soon thereafter. Opening Day is set for April 25 with the season running through June 13.
The Los Alamos County Little League is a 100 percent volunteer organization and volunteers are urgently needed for this year’s season.
“Last year we had our biggest participation with more than 500 kids,” Little League President James Chrobocinski said. “It’s great that we’re reaching so many more kids but with that we need many more parents and other community members to volunteer.”
Volunteers are need for positions including coaching, managing, umpiring, keeping scores, field maintenance and team parents. Come to the planning meeting to find out more or email email@example.com or text 680-4228.
