Enjoy the poetry of New Mexico Poet Laureate and 2022 Astronomer in Residence at Grand Canyon National Park, Lauren Camp, under the stars in the Los Alamos Nature Center planetarium at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 15.
Camp is the author of five poetry collections, most recently Took House (Tupelo Press, 2020). Her honors include a Dorset Prize and finalist citations for the Arab American Book Award, the Housatonic Book Award, and the Adrienne Rich Award for Poetry. In 2022, she was Astronomer in Residence at Grand Canyon National Park. Camp is the recipient of fellowships from Denver Botanic Gardens and Black Earth Institute, and a visiting writer position at the Mayo Clinic (MN). Camp teaches for Poetry Out Loud-New Mexico and leads her own community workshops. She is a Senior Reader for Mimbres Press.
