Linda Lomahaftewa Exhibit Opens at Than Povi

Than Povi Fine Art Gallery will inaugurate today a new series of one-person exhibitions of historical and contemporary importance. The inaugural exhibition features monotypes by artist and teacher, Linda Lomahaftewa.The exhibition will be on view through Jan. 10. 

A reception for the artist is 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6. This event is fre and is open to the public. The prints on view are selected from four distinct portfolios inspired by the artist’s travels, social and political issues, and her Native American heritage and beliefs.

Than Povi Fine Art Gallery opened in January 2013. It is located five minutes north of the Santa Fe Opera, on highway 84/285, next to the iconic Gabriel’s Restaurant. The Gallery is owned and operated by Elmer and Deborah Torres from the Pueblo of San Ildefonso.

The Gallery is dedicated to featuring authentic Native American fine artists primarily from the 20 tribes in New Mexico. The gallery represents more than 100 artists, many who are regular participants in Santa Fe’s renowned SWAIA Indian Market.
