The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) is counting down to the Backcountry Film Festival (BCFF) on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026, from 7–10 p.m. As the only screening in New Mexico, this annual event brings together outdoor enthusiasts, winter adventurers, and community supporters for an evening of films, prizes, and celebration.
Doors open at 6 p.m. at SALA Los Alamos Event Center (2551 Central Ave). Tickets are $16, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy drinks from Pajarito Brewpub & Grill, purchase raffle tickets, and connect with fellow winter‐loving community members.

The Backcountry Film Festival raffle has become a beloved tradition, and this year’s prize lineup is one of the strongest yet. About the Festival
Produced by Winter Wildlands Alliance, the Backcountry Film Festival celebrates the human‐powered experience and brings together the backcountry snow sports community. This year’s film lineup features stories of adventure, climate, youth in the outdoors, and ski culture. Attendees can watch the trailer and explore the full lineup at peecnature.org/events.

PEEC was founded in 2000 to serve the community of Los Alamos. It offers people of all ages a way to enrich their lives by strengthening their connections to our canyons, mesas, mountains, and skies. PEEC operates the Los Alamos Nature Center at 2600 Canyon Road, holds regular programs and events, and hosts several interest groups, from birding to hiking to butterfly watching.
