Letter To The Editor: Vote For Sharon Stover And Steve Girrens

By JAMES CHROBOCINSKI
Los Alamos County Councilor

As a County Councilor and small business owner I have had the pleasure to work closely with Sharon Stover and Steve Girrens over the last couple years. To put it simply they are just “good folk” who care deeply about this community.  No one works harder than this husband and wife team to make this a wonderful community.

Sharon Stover was raised in this region and has spent her adult life volunteering and serving in many roles including non-profits, elected, and volunteer. It is absolutely unquestioned that it was her leadership that led our county through the Cerro Grande Fire to recovery. I have watched her work tirelessly, always with the utmost ethics, leading the New Mexico Association of Counties – traveling throughout the state, establishing relationships, and advocating for our regional counties. Sharon truly understands Los Alamos and the Valley and will work harder on our behalf as a state representative than we have ever seen before!

Steve Girrens is a critical member of the County Council as we go forward dealing with the new Lab contracts. No one is more versed in Lab issues than Councilor Girrens. Many of the councilors, me included, look to Steve for guidance on Lab issues. Steve is also very passionate on issues that affect our schools and the youth in our community – issues that are near and dear to my heart. He always takes a strong stance on financial responsibility and he has a unique ability to bring consensus among his fellow councilors. We desperately need to re-elect Steve Girrens to County Council as we navigate through critical times over the next couple years.

I whole heartedly support and ask you to join me in voting for Sharon Stover for NM House District 43 and to re-elect Steve Girrens to County Council.
