Letter To The Editor: Thank You Los Alamos Voters

By MELANIE COLGAN
President
Los Alamos School Board

I would like to send a hearty thank you to the voters of Los Alamos and White Rock who made their voices heard, by voting in the recent election for the Los Alamos School Board, UNM-Los Alamos Advisory Board, and the Public Schools Building Act.

Further, a sincere thanks to those who chose to retain me as the School Board Representative for District 4 (Barranca).

I am deeply moved by the expression of confidence from the community and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’ll continue to be very conscious of the fact that I’m working for the best interests of all our students, teachers, staff, and parents.

I would also like to thank Rick Mooday for being willing to serve our community.

I am very humbled by and immensely grateful for the support I received and wish to thank those who supported me with their vote and the volunteers who so generously contributed their time and effort to help with my campaign.

I would also like to thank the Los Alamos community for their strong support of the Public Schools Building Act. This important funding will help the district in continuing to make our schools outstanding places for our students to learn, grow, and thrive.

I pledge to continue my efforts to help Los Alamos Public Schools succeed and get even better. I will work with the community, students, staff, parents and teachers in my tenure on the Board, and look forward to a brighter future for us all!
