Thanks so much to the Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation for supporting the Los Alamos High School art program.

High school student Caemlyn Tripp won Second Place in the high school division at the New Mexico State Fair. Jordan Duran won Best in Show. Their work was on display at the New Mexico Art Educator Association’s State Conference, which was Nov. 14-16 in Las Cruces.

The NMAEA state conference was very hands on, yet also provided lots of information on the implementation of common core in the arts, and using the arts to enhance common core. Information concerning the New Mexico teaching standards, teacher evaluations, and national art standards also was included.

I am very grateful to the Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation for funding my trip. I was very excited to attend the conference and represent our high school, the LAHS art program and the LAPS district.
