Letter To The Editor: Glad County Halts Weed Spraying

By JUTTA KAYSER

I am happy to read that the weed spraying has been stopped, as this poses a danger to humans and animals.

Last year, I was walking our senior dog behind Chamisa Elementary School in White Rock where he ate some grass that was growing along the schoolyard fence. As I walked him there again the next day, I noticed that all the weeds were dead, which signaled to me that someone must have sprayed them.

The days that followed were extremely scary for us, as our dog developed severe diarrhea, which lasted several days. Thank goodness, he survived.
