By JIB BENNETT My sincere thanks on behalf of “For the Animals” to everyone who helped us participate in the L.A. Small Business activities this past two weeks.
For the Animals is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization formed to receive donations to be used for the benefit of the Los Alamos County Shelter animals.
Kris Frain, Aimee Nu, Peggy Sullivan, Lucy Torres, Amy Elder, Hannah Hollowell and Michael Frain volunteered to load and unload vehicles and set up and watch the donation tables and they are greatly appreciated.
We profusely thank all the many, many people who gave donations of new and gently used animal supplies and equipment such as carriers, kennels, beds, bedding, food dishes, flannel gift bags, dog and cat toys, collars, harnesses, leashes, incontinence pants, brushes, doggie jackets, sweaters and booties. The cliché is true – without you it could not have happened!
We sincerely thank all the many people who came by our table to visit, tell us about their animals, offer to volunteer at the shelter, and donate money for the donated items.
Thanks are well deserved by Diana Martinez and the YMCA for publicity and the location. Thank you also to the numerous other individuals who facilitated in the Small Business Weekend.
An a big thank you to the manager and staff at the Los Alamos County Animal Shelter. Los Alamos has the best animal shelter ever! Proceeds from our successful solicitation will eb used exclusively to benefit Los Alamos Shelter animals.
It really does take a community, so we thank you all.
P.S. We still have some dog kennels. Call 505.661.0701, if you need one for holiday visitors.
