I took my high-schoolers to see family this last week, and the Midwesterners were concerned. “Why are you home? Your mom okay?” She’s fine, I say. It’s Fall Break. “Fall what?” Break. “Boys runnin’ grain cart?” No. <silence> “Well, i’n’t that sumthin’ then.” Something indeed. Makes me want to encourage you to vote for Sean Stanfield for School Board.
I’ve known Sean for most of his time here, and he is logical and sensible. He is a family man and a working man. His job has him managing people and technology at local and international levels. He understands how important education is for such a career.
Sean’s published photo has him in a shirt and tie, but he’s most recognizable in Hilltoppers apparel. He’s definitely a sports guy. I know School Board disputes won’t be solved on the tennis court, but Sean swings a mean racquet. I’ve watched Sean coach kids in youth basketball, support his kids in high school sports, and strategize soccer plays. Mediocrity is not an option. His drive, passion, and winning ways are evident.
Sean has guts. When a movement went against the notion of family, he spoke up, making his point, without damaging existing relationships. I’ve witnessed Sean interact effectively with people from all parts of many spectra.
Sean’s approach to family, education, and work is a winning one. We would do well to have him on the School Board.
