Letter To The Editor: Bernstein Thanks Supporters

By CHRISTINE BERNSTEIN
School Board Member-Elect

Thank you.

I am so grateful to have had this experience running for School Board for the Aspen District and I owe so much to so many people that have helped to make this happen.

I first want to thank my opponent, Morrie Pongratz, who made this a fun and challenging race. He was a formidable opponent and I am glad to have had this opportunity to grow and learn.

I want to thank the community. I am so grateful for your support and votes, for welcoming me into your homes and having conversations on your doorsteps. I have come to love this community even more than ever. I am so proud to live in this town.

Thank you to all the people that took time out of their day, evening and weekend to knock on doors, make phone calls, give me advice, and help me win this. I especially owe a great deal to Karyl Ann Armbruster for her endless energy and tenacity. There are many, many people who helped make this a success and I have a heart full of gratitude for you all!

I need to thank my campaign manager, Maslyn Locke for putting up with me. Thank you for making me do stuff I did not want to do, for telling me to suck it up and get out there, and for pushing me to move outside my comfort zone. I am especially grateful for her encouragement,  love, and support. Who would have known nine years ago when she was helping me put on dances in student council that she would be running a campaign for me. I couldn’t have done it without her.

And finally, I am thankful for my children, who were my greatest allies. They believed in me, cooked meals, cleaned the house and gave me a ton of hugs and love. I thank them for holding it all together so I could accomplish this goal.
