Letter To The Editor: A Little ‘Horn Tooting’ For Co+op Staff

By BETTY JACOB
Cashier
Los Alamos Cooperative Market

My name is Betty and I’m a cashier at the Los Alamos Cooperative Market for almost eight years.

I just want to do a little “horn tooting” for all the devoted diligent staff from our General Manager Jim Fischer, to all the employees throughout the store who have put their lives on the “frontline” to service the Los Alamos and outlying communities during the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic.

The endless sanitizing and requirements set by the State that have been incorporated by the Co-op Market staff each and every hour of the day resulting in stressful and often difficult demands to meet the supplies and requests of the people in Los Alamos and surrounding areas not only deserve a “parade” of appreciation, but a standing ovation of the same kind that would be given from a crowd of spectators demonstrating their approval for a touchdown at a football game!

The daily online ordering and curbside service at the Co-op has enabled the people of the community to access their groceries and household supplies with very limited exposure to other people.

I won’t go into the various services provided by the different departments throughout the store. This information can be obtained from our website, https:////losalamos.coop.

The much often overlooked “other” grocery store in town also deserves as many, if not more, kudos as has been provided by the local newspapers as the “big box” store a few minutes down the road from the Co-op.

When there are hooray’s all I’m stating is that they should be evenly distributed. We’re all in this together, let’s share the supplies and the appreciation.

Stay safe and healthy everyone.
