COUNTY News:
Congratulations to the winners of the Los Alamos County Fair Blue Ribbon Homemade Pie Contest, held on Saturday, Aug. 12, and an appreciation to all who entered the contest.
Judges had a great time tasting the entries and quite a challenge in choosing the overall winning pie.
The winners of this year’s Blue Ribbon Homemade Pie contest are:
- Grand Champion overall pie – Lena Ziele, Apple pie;
- Reserve Grand Champion overall pie – Joan Stockam, cherry pie; and
- Third Overall Champion – Sherre Wedel, strawberry/raspberry pie.
This year’s judges included:
- Los Alamos County Councilor Theresa Cull;
- Los Alamos County Fire Capt. Ray Gandara;
- Betty Ehart Senior Center Chef Stephen Jakob; and
- Los Alamos Teen Center Director Eli Argo.
