ALTSD News:
Tuesday, Jan. 20, marked the first day of the legislative session, and as lawmakers begin their work at the Roundhouse, the Aging & Long-Term Services Department (ALTSD) is excited to offer legislative tours during Senior Day on Feb. 13, 2026, as a meaningful way to connect lawmakers with the programs and people they serve.
What are legislative tours?
Legislative tours provide an opportunity for legislators to visit aging and long-term services providers in their communities—such as senior centers, nutrition sites, and community-based programs. These visits allow lawmakers to see services in action, hear directly from older adults and caregivers, and better understand how state investments translate into real-world impact.
What to expect
Tours are an opportunity to connect with your legislators and encourage support for ALTSD’s budget priorities. Tours typically last about 45 minutes and may include meeting with Representatives and Senators, listening to a legislative committee hearing, or observing a floor session from the gallery.
