The following cases will be considered by the Los Alamos County Board of Adjustments at a virtual meeting on July 27, 2020, at 5:30 p.m., at 1000 Central Avenue, Los Alamos, New Mexico 87544. The format will used to comply with the New Mexico Department of Health’s public emergency order governing mass gathering because of COVID-19. Public in-person attendance will not be allowed. Members of the public can view the agenda and live stream the meeting using this link: Interested parties are asked to email their public comments to in advance and include the words “Public Comment” in the subject line. Comments will be read into the record. Christine Sweeney, property owner/applicant, is requesting a waiver from front yard fence height restrictions at 933 TEWA LOOP, within the Eastern Area 1 subdivision. Approval of this application would roughly allow 48.85 linear feet of solid fencing along the southern property line, and 25 linear feet along the east property line to be a maximum of 6’ in height. Los Alamos County Development Code restricts the height of solid fencing in the front yard to 3’. The property, EA1 017, is zoned Single-Family Residential District (R-1-8).

A request for a 15-foot (15’) waiver to one of the required twenty-five-foot (25’) side yard setbacks. The Los Alamos County Code of Ordinances, Chapter 16, Development Code, requires setbacks to be established at the time of site plan approval, in this zoning district. If approved, the waiver will allow for the construction of a solar array to be built ten feet (10’) from the East and Southeast property lines. The property is located at 116 Piedra Loop, in the La Senda A Subdivision, Lot: 1008, and is zoned R-A (Residential Agricultural district).
