Notice is hereby given that the Los Alamos County Board of Adjustment has scheduled a public hearing to be held on Monday, March 8, 2021, beginning at 5:30PM, via Zoom, 1000 Central Avenue, Los Alamos, New Mexico. The format will used to comply with the New Mexico Department of Health’s public emergency order governing mass gathering because of COVID-19. Public in-person attendance will not be allowed. Members of the public can view the agenda and live stream the meeting using this link: http://losalamos.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx. Interested parties are asked to email their public comments to firstname.lastname@example.org in advance and include the words “Public Comment” in the subject line. Comments will be read into the record. A copy of the complete agenda is available at least 72-hours prior for public inspection or purchase, during regular business hours of 8am-5pm, within the Municipal Building lobby at 1000 Central Ave.

If approved the Waiver will allow for a porch to be constructed approximately 8 feet from the front property line, where the Los Alamos County Code of Ordinances, Chapter 16, Development Code, requires a 25-foot front setback within the R-1-8 zoning district. The property, EA2 167, is located at 597 Myrtle Street within the Eastern Area 2 subdivision and is zoned Single-Family Residential District (R-1-8).

A request for approval of a waiver from the required rear and side yard setbacks as set in the Los Alamos County Code of Ordinances, Chapter 16. If approved the Waiver will allow the newly constructed house’s foundation to encroach approximately 2.3 feet into the rear yard and 1 foot 2 inches (1’.2”) into the side yard. The Development Code requires a 20-foot rear yard setback and a 7.5-foot side yard setback within the R-M-NC zoning district. The property is located at 4296 Arizona Ave, in the North Community 2 subdivision, Lot 1A, and is zoned R-M-NC (Residential Mixed North Community).
