2024 PRIMARY ELECTION NOTICE
Pursuant to the election code Section 1-11-2, NMSA 1978, I, Naomi D. Maestas, County Clerk of Los Alamos County, by virtue of the authority vested in me, do hereby issue the following election notice:
That a Primary Election is called to be held in each precinct in Los Alamos County on June 4, 2024; and That the Primary Election shall be for the purpose of permitting the Democratic Party, the Libertarian Party, and the Republican Party and to nominate candidates for the following offices:

Los Alamos County Municipal Building, 1000 Central Avenue, County Clerk’s Office, 2nd floor, Suite 240. The last day to request an absentee ballot by mail is Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The last day the County Clerk can mail a ballot is Wednesday, May 22, 2024. All absentee ballots must be physically accepted in the County Clerk’s Office no later than 7:00 p.m., Election Day, Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
An Absentee Application is required to request an Absentee by Mail ballot. Applications can be obtained through the following methods:

VOTER REGISTRATION
Pursuant to NMSA 1-4-8A to participate in an election, the deadline to register to vote or update an existing voter registration is twenty-eight days prior to that election (Tuesday, May 7, 2024). However, in addition, pursuant to NMSA 1-4-5.7B, during a statewide election, a qualified elector may register to vote or update an existing certificate of registration in-person immediately prior to voting in the election at any polling place (vote center) throughout early voting and on Election Day beginning on the twenty-eighth day Tuesday, May 7, 2024 through Friday, May 17, 2024, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 18, 2024 through Saturday, June 1, 2024, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Election Day 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Closed on Sunday’s and Memorial Day, May 27, 2024). Pursuant to 1-4-5.7 C, A voter whose political party affiliation on the voter’s certificate of registration is with a major political party shall not be allowed to change party affiliation when updating an existing certificate of registration or registering to vote at a voting location immediately before voting in a primary election.

El último día para solicitar una boleta de ausencia por correo es el jueves 21 de mayo de 2024. El último día que el Secretario del Condado puede enviar una boleta es el viernes 22 de mayo de 2024. REGISTRO DE VOTER
De acuerdo con NMSA 1-4-8A para participar en una elección, la fecha límite para registrarse para votar o actualizar un registro de electores existente es veintiocho días antes de esa elección (martes, 7 de mayo de 2024).
