Sometimes you need to celebrate a birthday or anniversary over a weekend, a week, or in this case a couple of months. As we kicked off Feb. 7, 2024, with a salute to the Los Alamos Daily Post on its 12 year anniversary, I would like to finish off this extended celebration with one more kudo.

Los Alamos National Laboratory Director Thom Mason sees this community and the work of LANL through a very different lens. His input is of great value to many in this community and was sought in the cumulative work of the Los Alamos Daily Post over the last dozen years.

“The Los Alamos Daily Post is one of the key voices in Los Alamos—not only for the Laboratory, but the entire community,” Director Mason said. “At a time when local news is drying up nationwide, the Daily Post is a wellspring of information and inspiration.”

Mason shared his gratitude and appreciation for the work of Publisher Carol A. Clark and Post news team. He was very appreciative of their commitment to publish stories about the work of LANL employees in service to the community and surrounding area.

“These success stories about philanthropy and volunteerism are inspirational. I especially appreciate the year-end roundup and ‘10 Milestones of Community Connection,’” Director Mason said. “I look forward to reading more stories about how Laboratory employees are making a difference in the community. The Daily Post is a force for good in Los Alamos and northern New Mexico, making sure its readers are connected and informed on both local and national levels. Here’s to many more good years!”
