From Sancre Productions:
The 2023 Los Alamos Summer Concert Series, produced by the Los Alamos County Community Services Department and Sancre Productions and presented by Toyota of Santa Fe, will continue its incredible run of diverse and family-friendly music with Latin Dance Night FREE to the public this Friday, June 16 at Ashley Pond Park.
The concert is sponsored by returning sponsor, N3B whose support has elevated the series year after year by sponsoring dynamic and popular bands. N3B manages the 10-year Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract for the U.S. Department of Energy.
“N3B is very pleased to sponsor the Los Alamos Summer Concert Series’ first 2023 Latin Dance night concert featuring Nosotros,” N3B Acting Executive Officer Brad Smith said. “This marks our fifth consecutive year celebrating this popular family-night tradition with the Los Alamos community. We look forward to seeing everyone Friday night!”

Back by popular demand, Nosotros is one of the most recognizable Latin bands in the Southwest United States. They have twice been featured on NPR’s Alt Latino, twice been named winners in the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Competition, been awarded 13 New Mexico Music Awards, and have shared the stage with some of the biggest names in music. This Latin music powerhouse seamlessly combines Latin rhythms with elements of Rock, Salsa, Jazz and Cumbia creating an original sound that is unmistakably Nosotros. But M.E. Schenck of Hyperactive Music Magazine may have interpreted their sound best by saying “Nosotros’ music is not to be explained, it is to be felt in the pit of our souls.”

It gets even better; opening for Nosotros is the internationally touring band, Frontera Bugalu, which was founded in 2012 and pays homage to the hybrid form of music that could only have been created along the long border that stretches from Brownsville to El Paso. They plan to get the pond rocking in anticipation of the Nosotros.
But wait, there is one more surprise! N3B’s sponsorship provides FREE salsa/cumbia lessons to the general public before the show, so that beginners can learn the basics and the more experienced dancers can brush up on their fancy footwork and spins. The class will be taught in front of the Ashley Pond stage by a member of the Nosotros band, who is a consummate professional and can teach even the most awkward of dancers how to fit in with the crowd. He is also quite hilarious and makes sure everybody has a good time and leaves the informal class better prepared for the fun ahead.
Friday, June 16 Los Alamos Summer Concert Series Latin Dance Night Schedule:
- 4-5 p.m. – Free Salsa/Cumbia Lessons – Front of Ashely Pond stage.
- 6-8 p.m. – Frontera Bugalu
- 8-10 p.m. – Nosotros
