Sancre Productions News:
This Friday marks the last concert of the 2023 season and the Los Alamos Summer Concert Series presented by Toyota of Santa Fe, will welcome back a band that has not performed on the local stage since 2019 when they opened the season – Baracutanga!
Baracutanga is a seven-piece band, representing four countries (Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, USA), that blends South American ancestral traditions with a modern sensibility, whose exciting and distinct Latin flavor keeps crowds dancing and always wanting more. Baracutanga’s live shows are joyous, intense, and explosive, propelled by the sounds of Andean flutes, charango, accordion, vibes, horns, guitar, bass, drums, vocal harmonies and an array of percussion, often joined on stage, by Afro-Peruvian and Latin dancers. Baracutanga has received multiple regional awards and recognitions and has performed across the Southwest, Rocky Mountains and California, with stops in Calgary, NOLA, Austin and México.
Friday’s concert also will present a very special opener – Mariachi Estrella of the Santa Fe Youth Symphony, a Mariachi ensemble comprised of the best Youth Musicians in the area. Dozens of young adults playing traditional New Mexican and Mexican folk music at the pond!
Due to last Friday’s rain-out, last week’s sponsors still have a bunch of swag to give out and will announce the headliner. A big thank you to Zia Credit Union, Del Norte Credit Union, State Employees Credit Union and Los Alamos Public Schools Credit Union, for their years of Los Alamos Summer Concert Series support.
Schedule for Friday, Sept. 1
- 6 p.m. – Mariachi Estrella Santa Fe Youth Symphony
