Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization (LARSO) Executive Director Jacci Gruninger has been selected to present at the National Council on Aging’s Age+Action Conference, happening in May in Washington, D.C. As the premier aging conference in the nation, this event brings together thought leaders, practitioners, and advocates in the field to share innovative solutions and strategies that enhance the lives of older adults.
Gruninger will present on LARSO’s successful scam awareness programming for older adults, called S.A.F.E. (Scam Awareness for Elders). This essential initiative focuses on educating seniors about prevalent scams and equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to protect themselves and their families.
“I am honored to be part of such a significant event and to share our program, which has made a tangible impact on the lives of older adults in our community,” Gruninger said. “As scammers become increasingly sophisticated, it is crucial that we empower our seniors with the information they need to recognize and avoid these threats.”
The Age+Action Conference will feature more than 140 sessions and workshops aimed at addressing the challenges and opportunities facing older adults today. Attendees will gain insights from experts in various fields, focusing on advocacy, health, and economic security, among other critical topics.
Gruninger’s presentation will highlight the collaborative efforts of LARSO and various community partners in implementing the S.A.F.E. program, showcasing success stories and the importance of community engagement in protecting vulnerable populations.
