In order to save time for parents, Los Alamos Public Schools is switching from paper to an online student registration and data validation system, powered by InfoSnap.
All parents will be asked to complete the new password-protected registration.In the long run, LAPS will reduce the number of forms submitted by parents and streamline the start of school for students. In addition, annual updates will be simplified.
The district will use secure InfoSnapsoftware to verify studentdemographic, emergency, and medical information and collect permission slips, as applicable.
In the next week, parents will receive a letter or email with instructions about how to access the system. The letter/email will contain a link and a secure “snapcode” for direct access to your student’s information. On the first log-in, you will create an account for each student in your family.Families with more than one student attending LAPS will no longer have to fill out duplicate information.
If you don’t have access to the Internet, you may visit the County library or your student’s school. We will make a school computer available to complete the process. Thank you for your patience as we all learn this new software interface.
