The Los Alamos Public Schools (LAPS) is accepting nominations from the community for the 2026 New Mexico School Board Association’s (NMSBA) Excellence in Student Achievement Award.
The deadline to submit a nomination is Friday, Feb. 20, 2026.
The NMSBA Excellence in Student Achievement Awards are presented to individuals selected by local boards of education throughout New Mexico who have played an important role in improving student achievement in their local school district.
Nominees may include administrators, teachers, staff members, parents, community members or volunteers.
Submit nominations for the New Mexico School Board Association’s 2026 Excellence in Student Achievement Award using the form that can be found at https://forms.gle/c9WXNyT2Uu2Eu1DW9.
The Los Alamos School Board will review the nominations and choose the final recipient. Winners will be announced at a School Board meeting in May.
Last year, the LAPS School Board received 31 nominations and selected Los Alamos Middle School teacher Meagan Selis, Pinon Elementary School Special Education teacher Jenae Schultz, and Pinon Elementary School occupational therapist Betsy Stauffer as the recipients of the 2025 New Mexico School Boards Association (NMSBA) Excellence in Student Achievement Award.
