One of the most exciting parts about graduating is getting that final high school yearbook – something to be treasured forever. In reality, time goes on and it may happen that we lose that treasured item along the way. Or we want to revisit those memories with old friends, something the evolution of the internet has made much easier to do.

The Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation has heard the call from LAHS alumni to put their yearbooks online. With funds donated by individuals and LAHS classes, the organization is planning the launch a new section of its website soon that will include every LAHS yearbook from 1949 through 2017. Not only that, but it will feature a database of senior photos to take the place of the ones that used to hang in “Senior Lobby”. The site will also have a mechanism for alumni to comment and post. The LAPS Foundation plans to continue adding future yearbooks to the site, not to replace printed yearbooks, but to augment the yearbook experience for alumni.

The LAPS Foundation will add this benefit to its other alumni offerings, which include tours of the renovated high school during class reunions and Hilltopper Alumni t-shirts, which are on sale at CB Fox. LAHS alumni, including the most recent class of 2018, who would like to be notified when the yearbook site launches are encouraged to like the LAPS Foundation’s Facebook page at or sign up for its alumni newsletter at

The Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation is an independent organization that supports, challenges, and invests in a successful future for all Los Alamos public school students. It raises money through generous contributions from individuals and organizations that share the Foundation’s core values.

Any LAHS alumnus who wishes to give back to his or her alma matter may do so through the LAPS Foundation, which provides an important funding source for all Los Alamos Public Schools. Since its inception in 2005, the LAPS Foundation has infused more than $1 million into the schools. To learn more and/or make a donation, visit or call 505.500.6501.
