LAPS Foundation News:
Does anyone wish they could show a particular teacher a little extra love? Starting today, they can! The Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation is sponsoring a community-wide campaign to “Shower” LAPS teachers with things they need for their classrooms.
From Feb. 14 through March 14, readers can go to https://showerlove25.givesmart.com and donate any amount towards a teacher’s wish list. LAPS Foundation will purchase the item(s) for the teacher once the donation amount is fulfilled. It’s a simple but effective way to show local teachers how much they are appreciated.
In addition to supporting teachers, these donations directly impact students and provide them with extra learning opportunities they wouldn’t have without community support.
Last spring the community donated more than $9,000 to help all the schools get educational materials like books, curriculum, art supplies, outdoor learning items and more. With the Foundation’s additional match, almost $20,000 went to the schools.
This is an opportunity to shower teachers with love again this year! Check out the teachers’ wish list items at https://showerlove25.givesmart.com or text showerlove25.
