LAPS Bus Drivers Recognized With Surprise Breakfast

LAPS News:

Bus drivers with the Los Alamos Public Schools were recognized Wednesday morning as part of Bus Driver Appreciation Week.

Superintendent Kurt Steinhaus thanked the drivers, assistants and substitutes for their hard work and dedication to the students of LAPS with a surprise breakfast during their weekly team meeting.

The LAPS Transportation Department is still looking for both Route and Substitute Drivers.

Becoming a Bus Driver requires approximately 40 hours of training at $13.66 per hour and passing the CDL license exam.

Substitute Bus Drivers earn $20.14 per hour. Route Drivers receive benefits and start at $20.40 per hour with the opportunity to earn a higher rate depending on previous experience.
