LAPS Board Selects Ryan Adams To Fill Dist. 2 Vacancy

Ryan Adams

LAPS News:

The Los Alamos Public Schools Board of Education has selected Ryan Adams to fill the vacancy in District 2, which resulted from the resignation of former School Board President Antonio Jaurigue. District 2 includes Chamisa Elementary School in White Rock.

Adams will be sworn in at the start of the June 11 School Board meeting.

Board members cited Adams’ “fresh perspective and new eyes” as well as his experience in accounting as reasons for their selection. Adams is a relative newcomer to Los Alamos. He has children attending elementary, middle and high school.

“I am humbled by this opportunity and look forward to serving the wonderful students in our school district,” Adams said.

In his letter of interest Adams stated, “I wholeheartedly offer my expertise to benefit the school district, which may include helping with financial or compliance matters, evaluating policies, analyzing data and research, and helping to improve processes.”

Adams is a Financial Compliance Specialist with Los Alamos National Laboratory. He holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in accounting.
