The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) has announced that Doug Weiss is recognized by the NIAAA as a Certified Athletic Administrator.

To earn this distinction, Weiss has demonstrated the highest level of knowledge and expertise in the field of interscholastic athletic administration. The voluntary certification process included a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s educational background, experience, and professional contributions, as well as a rigorous, comprehensive written examination.

He is one of an elite group of interscholastic athletic administrators nationwide to attain this level of professionalism.

“Doug’s collaborative spirit, eagerness to serve students and business minded approach have proven invaluable to Hilltopper Athletics,” Athletic Director Guy Meyer said. “Congratulations to Doug on his well-deserved CAA certification.”

Weiss joined the LAHS Athletic Department in 2021 and was named the Assistant Athletic Director in 2024. He also oversees athletics at Los Alamos Middle School.
