LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department just converted a van previously used by its Detention Center into a Crime Scene Unit.

This vehicle will be outfitted with all the necessary tools and equipment that may be needed at crime scenes or large incidents.

In the past, detectives and patrol officers generally kept minimal equipment in their units to process scenes and at times, these detectives/officers needed other larger pieces of equipment brought to the scene from the department.

With the implementation of this vehicle, all needed items to properly conduct an investigation will be housed in one vehicle and be ready for immediate response.

Next fiscal year, LAPD will purchase a new vehicle that better suits the needs of the Los Alamos County Detention Center.
