Do you wonder what all the different types of clouds in the sky mean?
Come to a free Cloudspotting Class led by Los Alamos National Laboratory Meteorologist Jean Dewart at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19 at the Pajarito Environmental Education Center.
Dewart first learned to watch the sky when she came to New Mexico many years ago. In this talk, she will take participants on a tour through many types of clouds.
She’ll also explain what different types of clouds can tell us about the atmosphere and weather. Knowing a bit about the science of clouds increases the enjoyment of watching the sky.
Cloudspotting has become a popular hobby, but you don’t have to be an official cloudspotter to be curious about what the clouds mean.
“We live in the best part of the country for cloud watching: the land of partly cloud skies!” Dewart said.
The Pajarito Environmental Education Center is at 3540 Orange St., behind Los Alamos High School.
