LANL Foundation Scholarships Available for Nontraditional Students

LANLF News:

The LANL Foundation, through the Los Alamos Employees’ Scholarship Fund, awards Regional College/Returning Student Scholarships of $1,000 to motivated nontraditional students seeking new opportunities or career directions after focusing on work, the military, parenting or other pursuits.

Applications are now accepted online at www.lanlfoundation.org/scholarships with a Dec.1 deadline for January awards. Selection preference is shown toward applicants who have been away from formal education for a period of two years or more. Preference may also be given to students in programs related to science, technology, engineering, mathematics and related vocations, although strong applications in any program area are considered.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and demonstrate that they have been accepted into or are currently pursuing certification or a two-year degree at an accredited regional college. Residence in Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe or Taos County for 366 consecutive days is required.

Los Alamos Employees’ Scholarship Fund is managed by the LANL Foundation with oversight provided by an advisory committee of volunteer donors. Scholarships are funded by contributions from LANL employees, retirees, contractors, community members and Los Alamos National Security, LLC (LANS).
