LANL Foundation Offers Monthly Grants That Strengthen Teaching And Learning

LANL Foundation News:

The LANL Foundation offers Educational Outreach Small Grants to school districts and nonprofits with programs that strengthen teaching and learning.

Grants of up to $1,500 are available monthly to support public schools and nonprofits working in education in Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe and Taos counties.

Previously, grants were limited to programs related to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). The grants are now available to more nonprofit programs focused on teaching and learning.

The nonprofit focus should be on the following efforts:

  • teacher professional development;
  • curriculum enhancement;
  • support for classroom instruction; and
  • student learning.

Organizations are eligible to receive one grant per calendar year. Only one school or program in each of the 20 school districts is eligible for a grant each year.

Organizations that received LANL Foundation grants in previous years that did not meet all of the reporting deadlines, or other requirements of their funding agreements, are ineligible to receive any future small grants.

Contact Sally Gallegos at sally@lanlfoundation.org or call 505.753.8890 ext. 118, for more information.

Applications may be submitted online at www.lanlfoundation.org/grants and are due by the 15th of each month January through November.
