SANTA FE — LANL Foundation announces the recipients of its Spring 2021 Career Pathways Scholarship, awarded to those in pursuit of a two-year degree, trade or certificate.
The 22 recent Career Pathways awardees from Northern New Mexico intend to pursue degrees and certifications in high-demand fields, including Nursing, Information Technology, Radiation Technology, Welding, Computer Science and Business Administration.
These scholars are highly motivated to gain the skills and credentials needed to enter the workforce in their career of choice, with the primary goal of improving quality of life for themselves, their family, and their community.
This award cycle represents a $45,000 investment in Northern New Mexico’s diverse communities and the promise of a brighter future for all. Career Pathways Scholarships are awarded in the amount of $750/semester for up to four semesters, depending on each student’s individual needs.
While some students are enrolled full time, others attend part time while working and caring for their families. Some recipients are entering higher education for the first time, while others are making a career change.
“The impact of this scholarship cannot be overstated. Every semester, we hear from our recipients that this scholarship not only provides much needed financial support, but also inspires confidence and encourages them to stay on course and realize their dreams of a better life,” Scholarship Program Manager Mike Ammerman said.
