LANL Archaeologist to Discuss Pajarito Plateau History May 22 at Bradbury Science Museum

Los Alamos National Laboratory archaeologist and cultural resources manager Jennifer Payne talks about the large number of archaeological sites on Laboratory property and how LANL’s extensive cultural resources management plan and program (http://www.lanl.gov/community-environment/environmental-stewardship/protection/cultural-preservation/index.php) helps protect these sites.

Payne make her presentation during a lunch-hour “brown bag” talk noon to 1 p.m., May 22 in the Auditorium of the Bradbury Science Museum in downtown Los Alamos.

Payne is a team leader in LANL’s Environmental Stewardship Group and works with archaeologists and cultural resources managers to identify, evaluate, manage and protect cultural resources eligible for the National Register of Places.

The talk coincides with May’s National Historic Preservation Month and is free and open to the public and attendees are welcome to bring their lunch.

Bradbury Science Museum is located at 15th Street and Central Avenue in downtown Los Alamos.
