LANB Appoints Rodney Pittman As CAO

Los Alamos National Bank has announced the appointment of Rodney “Rod” Pittman as Chief Administrative Officer effective immediately.

In this role, Pittman will provide the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that LANB has proper administrative and reporting procedures, communications, talent, and infrastructure in place to grow the organization and ensure outstanding operating efficiency.

“Rod has extensive financial management expertise that will be instrumental in maintaining and expanding LANB’s position as one of the largest community banks in New Mexico,” Chief Executive Officer John Gulas said. “He is a down-to-earth, pragmatic, and goal-oriented manager, eager to engage with our employees and the communities we serve.”

Most recently, Pittman worked as the Executive Vice President of Corporate Security at BBVA Compass. Before joining BBVA, Pittman was with Texas State Bank, where he served as the Chief Operating Officer for five years. Highly seasoned in the banking and financial services industry, Pittman’s experience includes operations, audit, compliance, and consulting functions. He earned his MBA in Finance from the University of Indianapolis in 2001.

In addition, he holds multiple industry certifications including: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Financials Services Auditor (CFSA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified Fraud Examiner.

Pittman takes a hands-on approach to community involvement; he enjoys participating in local events and supporting local charities. He currently serves on the board of the Los Alamos YMCA, and plans to be actively involved with other nonprofit organizations. An avid musician, Pittman has been an active member of the Musician’s Guild and plays the saxophone professionally. He and his wife, Sherryl, live in Los Alamos.
